Bethany Evelyn is a passionate illustrator, spirit, and devoted mother. After earning her BA Hons in Illustration with Animation, she began her journey as a freelance children's picture book illustrator. Drawing inspiration from nature walks, mythology, and the lively children in her family. Bethany crafts organic, whimsical, captivating digital illustrations that incorporate elements of traditional mediums. When she's not working she loves to experiment with various techniques and materials to further refine and explore her artistic style.

A Friendly Video Call
Starting with a cup of tea and a relaxed atmosphere we will discuss your project via video call to gain an understanding of your vision and begin building a base for a strong partnership. I will gather up the information I need to provide an estimated quote and timeline for the completion of your project. From here we can arrange future video calls or move to your preferred mode of communication.

Picture Book Illustration
Following on from my illustration degree I decided to specialise in children's picture book illustration and help self publishing authors bring ideas to life through visual storytelling.
Let's discuss the feeling you are trying to evoke within your book. I want to hear about your inspiration and influence, the vision you have and bring some personality to your characters.

Book Cover Design
Once the character designs are established and all the inside spreads are revised and complete we will move onto designing the front and back cover. This is important, as it is the target markets first impression of your book but also what sells it. We are told not to judge a book by its cover, but unfortnetly people do and it is my job to make sure they like it!

Formatting For Print
Once we have all the illustrations completed it will be time to move onto formatting. This is when we add in the text, get everything tidied up and ready for print. It's an exciting stage in the process as you will see everything come together. You will receive a professionally prepared document containing all inside spreads to send to your printer or online platform such as KDP or Ingram Sparks.
